EBICU [ E-BIke-Control-Unit ]
control unit for E-Bikes based on an arduino microcontroller.
DESCRIPTION:
The control unit drives the motor (motor shield / throttle), displays
temperature values (green column)​​, power values ​​(red column) and
speed values (blue column) ​​via smartphone using bluetooth.
Should the bike be moved after parking (stolen), the control unit sends a SMS with the current GPS values, ​​so that it can be found again.
The pedelec-function has not been tested yet.
The control unit drives a selfmade recumbent.

    When is somebody going to do a FWD trike right? Just like FWD cars FWD trikes need CV joints NOT U JOINTS, they are NOT equivalent!

    I'm interested in doing some / all of this for a brushed DC bike @ 24v. My pwm now is 35A currie, motor can handle 50A @ 36v but for now will stay 24v. I'm also looking for cruise control. Does your system put out the PWM or is it displays only?

    time to design a differential because the front wheels turn at different speeds during all times except traveling straight ahead. or just use in sand or snow. live axle is only used on slippery surfaces. ever fail to disengage your front hubs on a 4x4, try to drive on the street and make a turn? try it some time. It goes, "chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp, click, click, pop!" and there goes your cv joint much like your little cvs which will break the second you turn. just design a $2000 differential

    Maybe you're right. But have you ever tried to buil something like this? It need a lot of studies and, often it begins with a foggy idea than, step by step, grown clearly . Probably, next step will includes fenders and others things.

    What about stealing when parked? Luggage-carriers? Fenders (essential for the rear wheel)? Lights? Gears? Mirrors? The handlebars seem to be too close to the wheels; could be dangerous.

    You asked, so I will give you some comments: In order to actually be viable you need to add some mechanism of gearing. You also need a differential. With U-joints the axles need to allow for the changing length when you turn or fold the trike. The rear end does not look like it would be strong enough, but that could be beefed up. Interesting concept. Good luck making it.

    Does is have a differential? How does it compensate for the difference in speed in corners? PS. Nice concept!
